Overview
This immersive three-day course offers a unique designer–maker experience in glass. You’ll collaborate with Jonathan to develop your own concept, then see it brought to life using traditional hotshop techniques, including an introduction to cane pulling and incorporating cane into blown forms.

Day one focuses on foundational glassblowing skills — gathering, shaping, blocking, and assisted blowing — so you understand the material and process.

On days two and three, you’ll work alongside Jonathan to stretch cane, prepare colour, and take part in key making stages such as blocking, assisted blowing, and jacking necklines, all under very close supervision. Jonathan will handle the complex hotshop tasks while you remain fully involved in the creative direction and safe hands-on elements.

Your finished work will be annealed, coldworked as required, and ready for collection or shipment. This course is suitable for complete beginners but offers a rare chance to take part in a high-level making process.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Totally amazing course. It was my first time glassblowing and I did the 3-day course. It's expensive, but when you see the kit Jonathan has, his fabulous studio, and the fact that it's virtually one-to-one tuition, it’s well worth it. Made some great things and learnt a lot. Strongly recommended."
